Workshops at Hollins University

I'm still playing catch-up from my six weeks at Hollins University and am trying to record all the wonderful things that happened there. One of the best things about teaching there were the workshops. We were constantly letting the students demo new techniques. And between the varied skills from our faculty, permanent and visiting, it was quite the range.
     Ruth Sanderson did two workshops. One on scratchboard techniques:

And another on oil glazing over sepia printed drawings:

Lauren Mills gave a workshop on her amazing watercolor techniques and portraiture:

And Dennis Nolan did a layered workshop on pen and ink, watercolor, and colored pencil:


Caldecott Award Winner Eric Rohmann dropped in to give a workshop on linocut techniques:

Ashley Wolff gave demos on various print, watercolor, and gouach techniques (not pictured). And I gave workshops on digital techniques (not pictured).
     All this while we had our enormous picture book library sitting right in the middle of it all. Can you say inspiring?
