Authors for Earth Day!

What a fabulous idea. 19 authors with environmentally-related books are visiting schools throughout the US, Canada, and Australia during the month of April in celebration of Earth Day. Alison Formento, who I interviewed on Thursday for her new book THESE SEAS COUNT, is one of them. And all of them are donating portions of their speaking engagement fees to nonprofit conservation groups voted on by the students. How cool is that?
The initiative was created by author Brooke Bessesen in 2010 and you can visit the website for Authors for Earth Day here. And read more about it at Publishers Weekly.
Since my new novel is heavily environmental (coming out Spring 2014), I hope to join in and be a part of this initiative in 2014. If you're an environmentally-minded teacher or librarian and would like to get on board - email me at elizabeth at dulemba dot com!
